The
MINERVA robot on the Japanese
Hayabusa probe will be exploring the surface of the asteroid
Itokawa shortly. The robot moves by hopping around, and contains three cameras (which will take pictures with a resolution of 1 millimeter at a distance of 10cm) and six temperature probes for measuring the surface temperature of Itokawa. More information on the Hayabusa probe can be found at
